Select EIGHT of the following questions to answer in a thoughtful response that draws from the relevant text(s). All responses will appear in the single text box below these instructions and the listed questions. There is no length requirement for each response, but three or four well-crafted sentences should allow you to answer each question sufficiently. Try to explain the significance of each element as fully as you can and refer to examples from the selected texts to receive maximum points for each response, though direct quotations are not required or expected. Going beyond summary and description to demonstrate analysis and consider meaning will earn responses the most points. I will allow you to consult the primary texts (the stories, plays, and poems themselves) during the exam, but you MUST not consult any other outside sources, including fellow classmates, summary or explanatory websites, or course notes or you will be reported for plagiarism and violation of the University Honor Code. While grammar and mechanics will not have a major impact on your grade in this exam, please write your responses in complete sentences and follow rules and conventions of grammar as best you can. Be sure to number your answers according to the questions you have selected. Each of these questions is worth 10 points for a total of 80 points.
BONUS: You may select one question to answer as a bonus question for which you will receive extra credit (up to 5 points) toward your final-exam grade. Please indicate which answer is the bonus response and do not answer more than nine questions total.
