a) Based on the locations of the homeless encampments in relation to streets, zip codes, and prominent landmarks, describe the geographic distribution, concentration and patterns of homeless encampments in Staten Island.
b) Examine and analyze the geography of homeless encampments in Staten Island. Why do you think they are distributed or concentrated geographically the way they appear on the map? What could be some of the reasons? What other patterns and relationships between homelessness, zip codes, streets, or popular landmarks can you observe?
c) Using at least two (2) secondary or external references (news reports, articles, etc.), identify 1-2 factors that possibly contribute to the geographic patterns of distribution and concentration of homeless encampments in the borough.
d) Identify and describe 1-2 programs or policies that the NGO can implement in response to the phenomenon of homelessness in Staten Island. Support your recommendations with external references or research.
e) Finally, explain how you applied the Code of Ethics of GIS Professionals when creating the maps concerning homeless people, and in completing your document.
