For this paragraph: Form a ‘thesis argument’ about the material and write a 250 word (minimum) written response defending and arguing your thesis. Highlight your thesis.
A thesis is essentially an argument you form about the readings based on your conclusions from the evidence. This should reflect an opinion, not a fact established by the readings. If it is something that everyone agrees on then it is not really a thesis argument. For example, the Black Death is caused many deaths is not a thesis, but you could look at the effect of the Black Death on the economy, or religious expression, etc. and say how you think the Black Death affected this part of society.
